Hot Honey Peach BBQ Chicken
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20–25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 ripe peaches, sliced into wedges
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish, optional
For the Hot Honey Peach BBQ Glaze
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/3 cup peach preserves
- 2 tablespoons hot honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Heat your outdoor grill to medium-high, approximately 400°F. Clean and lightly oil the grill grates.
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry. Coat them with olive oil, then season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
- Prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, peach preserves, hot honey, apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Set aside a portion of the glaze for serving before brushing any onto the raw chicken.
- Grill the chicken: Place the chicken on the grill and cook for approximately 5–7 minutes per side. During the final few minutes, brush both sides generously with the peach barbecue glaze.
- Grill the peaches: Lightly brush the peach wedges with oil. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side, or until softened with visible grill marks.
- Check the temperature: Cook the chicken until its thickest part reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F when checked with a meat thermometer.
- Serve: Arrange the chicken and grilled peaches on a platter. Spoon the reserved glaze over the top and garnish with fresh thyme or parsley.
Make It Mild or Turn Up the Heat
For a milder glaze, replace the hot honey with regular honey. If you enjoy extra heat, add crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne pepper. The glaze is also delicious on grilled pork chops, wings or salmon.
